Gerard Pique has claimed that Lionel Messi’s recent goal-drought was ‘not a crisis’, and has insisted that the Argentine is the ‘best ever’.
Messi recently went four games without a goal for Barcelona before netting twice against Milan in the Champions League.
And the Blaugrana defender has claimed that he always knew the record-breaker would find the net, whilst also commenting on the race for the Ballon d’Or.
“With or without a World Cup, I think Messi is the greatest player ever,” he told ESPN.
“Everyone knew he was going to score again at some point. But Messi’s crises and normal crises.
“Nobody really knows how the Ballon d’Or is decided. If it’s on titles, then Ribery is the favourite. Both for individual performances, Messi and Cristiano have had great years.”
