Griezmann promises Real fight

Antoine Griezmann has promised that Real Sociedad will ‘continue fighting’ in the Champions League so long as hope remains.

La Real host Manchester United this Tuesday evening sitting bottom of Group A without a point to their name.

However, their French forward says that the dressing room has not yet given up on pushing for the Round of 16 or advancement into the Europa League knockout stages.

“We want to bring joy to the fans. On Tuesday we will give everything against Manchester United to get the three points,” Griezmann has reflected this week.

“We know that progressing from the group is difficult, but whilst there is hope we will continue fighting. Moreover, also at stake is the image of the club.”

Griezmann heads into the match off the back amongst the goals, having contributed his side’s third in their 5-0 win at home to Osasuna on Saturday.

“When they were reduced to 10 men, it made easier our work. I’m happy for the goals but more so for the win for the team, which is gradually rekindling its sparkle and the level that we are after.

“I’m enjoying my form and I have to thank my teammates, because without them I would not have scored. I got 10 goals last season and I always say that I want to improve my stats.

“But most important is that the team remains in a good line. Everyone here is a leader, each doing his bit.”
