Luis Garcia admitted his Getafe side were tired after their 1-0 defeat against Valencia this lunchtime.
Dorlan Pabon’s strike was enough to give Los Che the points, but the Azulones Coach was quick to defend his players after they had games on Monday, Thursday and Sunday.
“The team was tired,” he told reporters. “We played a game on Monday which finished on Tuesday.
“Then on Thursday we didn’t arrive back in Madrid until four in the morning – and now we’re playing Sunday morning.
“We’ve tried to rotate and keep people fresh – but both games we lost, we perhaps could have won.
“I thought Valencia changed their style, and that surprised me. I thought the game could have gone either way.”
