Javier Mascherano has backed Lionel Messi to find his form again, with the Argentine forward going four games without a goal.
The record-breaking attacker failed to find the net as Barcelona beat Espanyol 1-0 on Friday night, but the defender has claimed that his countryman will be back to his best.
“This Friday Messi perhaps didn’t have his best night,” he told the club’s official website.
“But we can’t pretend that [it’s possible] for him to be at his peak everyday. He is a vital player for us.”
