AS report that Xabi Alonso is intent on renewing his contract with Real Madrid and not holding talks with other clubs.
Reports earlier this week suggested that the 31-year-old was closer to leaving the Santiago Bernabeu next summer at the expiry of his contract, than he was to opening renegotiations with Los Blancos.
However, AS say otherwise today and are running the line that the midfielder only has the desire to extend his deal with Madrid.
It is seen that the player believes he can continue at the highest level for a further two to three years and that his priority is now to remain with his current club.
Juventus and Chelsea have been linked as clubs monitoring the situation otherwise, but it is believed that whilst the Bianconeri have been in touch with Alonso’s agent for the past six months, the player is not open to talking to other clubs.
