‘Juve going to Madrid to win’

Beppe Marotta has assured that Juventus’ weekend defeat at Fiorentina will not impinge on their efforts to defeat Real Madrid away this week.

Wednesday sees the Italians head out in the Spanish capital for matchday three of the Champions League group stage on the back of a surprise 4-2 reverse at Fiorentina at the weekend.

“We will try to win at the Bernabeu. What happened at Fiorentina cannot have an influence,” mused Moratta in Tuttosport today.

“It’s an important tie, there are points up for grabs to be conquered with gritted teeth, but we will try to achieve our objective.

“They are one of the strongest teams that we can face but we do so with respect and knowing that we can take a leading role in the game.

“We must have strength to close the door on Fiorentina and to open another in two days. The Coach and players are smart enough to face this game 100 per cent.”
