Willy Sagnol has backed his former international colleague Zinedine Zidane as capable of making a success of being France Coach.
The Real Madrid assistant Coach admitted last week that one of his career ambitions is to coach Les Bleus and today his former teammate with the national side has offered his backing.
“We were together studying for our coaching badges,” explained retired defender Sagnol to Infosport today.
“He has a real willingness to learn and not to only turn up where he was once successful and say ‘I’m Zidane and I want a team’.
“I think it is extremely positive. It is difficult to draw upon a star but Zidane with his past as a player, and if he develops well, if he starts well, why not?
“It would be a great story. This is someone who reserves his words for the group before offering them to those outside.”
