Raphael Varane’s absence from France’s latest training session has raised concern, as he reportedly complains of discomfort in his knee.
The 20-year-old has only just returned to action for Real Madrid after a five-month lay-off recovering from surgery on his right knee in May.
Playing the full 90 minutes in Madrid’s previous two fixtures, the youngster has been called up by Les Bleus for this month’s friendly with Australia and World Cup qualifier with Finland.
However, concern has risen with Varane missing Wednesday evening’s workout under Didier Deschamps, with few details released so far.
The player is reported as suffering discomfort in his right knee, the same one that was operated on.
