Luis Garcia: Season is long, but…

Luis Garcia looked to calm down enthusiasm surrounding Getafe’s recent form, but admitted that he is happy with the recent turnaround.

Los Azulones have put a difficult few opening weeks to the season behind them to record four wins from the last five rounds.

Week 8’s 3-1 win at home to Real Betis on Sunday night has moved the Madrid outfit up to fifth for the international break.

“The season is very long, it is 38 weeks, but now we have to enjoy this moment because before this in the season we were screwed,” considered Garcia post-match.

“The team now is on a roll. We should by trying to continue this streak and trying to continue adding points.

“Here we have had good moments of play, our accuracy has particularly been very good. There was lots of mobility and especially the attitude of the team has been very important.

“Everyone has run and fought. We are a unit. We left the path at the start of the season and fortunately we are back on it.

“We have realised that if you do not work as a block, you achieve nothing. Such is the way. That is the idea. With quality only, you cannot beat anyone.

“Now we are doing things and hopefully we will not fall out of this line. The fans I believe are proud of the team.”
