Rami out of France squad

Valencia defender Adil Rami is notably out of the latest France squad, just as Real Madrid duo Raphael Varane and Karim Benzema are called.

Rami is currently suspended by his club after publicly criticising teammates and his Coach and looks unlikely to play for Los Che again, with a move away in January seen as in the pipeline.

For Les Bleus’ upcoming friendly with Australia and closing World Cup qualifier at home to Finland, Didier Deschamps has opted against selecting the 27-year-old.

However, there is an immediate return to the team for Varane, despite only returning to playing action this midweek for Real Madrid at home to Copenhagen.

Alongside the young centre-back, under-pressure striker Benzema has kept his place in the squad, even as in the most recent games with France he had dropped to the bench.
