Manchester United will reportedly return in January for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, say reports in England.
With The Red Devils having struggled in the early weeks of life under new manager David Moyes, speculation has returned to future plans in the transfer window.
The Daily Express are one of a number of outlets this week running the line that the reigning English champions will have between €60m and €90m to spend this winter.
Linked with a number of targets, it is generally believed that United will return to Spain to try once more to sign Athletic’s Ander Herrera.
The Premier League side were known to have come in with a late bid for the 24-year-old in the closing days of the summer transfer window, only for talks to break down amid confusion caused by the attempted involvement of a third party.
It is assumed that Athletic will still only negotiate at Herrera’s €36m buyout clause. United are believed to have scouted the player in the early weeks of this season.
