‘Madrid must use their youth’

Jese Rodriguez has remarked on how Real Madrid must ‘take advantage’ of their young players as they look to ease an unsteady start to the season.

The 20-year-old made his debut in European competition for Los Blancos during Wednesday evening’s win over Copenhagen in the Champions League.

The 4-0 win, thanks to doubles from Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel di Maria, is what the team’s young forward believes can be a turning point to a difficult week so far.

“The players inside the dressing room are content,” Jese reflected afterwards to UEFA’s official website.

“This victory will give us a lot of confidence while it's important that the fans are happy too.

“Things will start going better for us from now on. We will take things on a game by game basis all the while trying to win every match.

“This Real Madrid have a lot of young players which I think is something very positive, something that we have to take advantage of. For me, all of the playing time I get is important.

“I feel so happy to have made my debut in European competition and even more for having done so here in front of great supporters who always show their affection for the youth-team players.

“Above all, I am happy because we won. It was a good victory and I think we played a great game, scoring sensational goals.

“Di Maria, Cristiano and Iker [Casillas] played really well. We are all happy, which is important.”
