Di Maria happy for new system

Angel di Maria says he had few complaints with Real Madrid’s slightly alerted playing system, which saw him net twice on Wednesday evening.

The Argentine scored two of Madrid’s goals in their 4-0 Champions League group stage win over Copenhagen playing in a formation that proved to be a shift to a 4-3-3.

“I am very happy, we played very well changing the system a little to three up front now,” reflected Di Maria afterwards.

“The Coach is still confident in us and we did a great job. If we play like that every day, things will improve.”

Alongside his goals, Di Maria continued a strong run of form for Los Blancos with a notable assist for Cristiano Ronaldo’s second of the night.

“I have more confidence to do the rabona with my right,” commented the winger in relation to his improvised cross.

“We have to keep going like that, all matches are hard but we can make it easier by doing things well.

“I'm still working the same and trying to convince the Coach I want to be in the starting XI.”
