Espanyol forward Christian Stuani and Atletico Madrid youngster Jose Maria Gimenez have made Uruguay’s provisional squad for next month.
Stuani has recently broken into the national set-up and netted his first goal for La Celeste in early September’s World Cup qualifier against Colombia.
On from this, the 26-year-old has been included in Oscar Tabarez’s provisional 29-man squad to see out the CONMEBOL qualifying section next month with matches against Ecuador and Argentina.
Notably, Atleti’s 18-year-old Jose Maria Gimenez has also been listed again, after debuting last month for the senior side.
His club colleagues and squad regulars Diego Godin and Cristian Rodriguez are also listed, as is Real Sociedad’s Chori Castro, in a selection that will be confirmed early next week.
Uruguay are currently level on points with Ecuador in the fight for the fourth and final direct qualification position for the 2014 World Cup.
