Jonas ‘sad’ about Rami case

Jonas Goncalves has admitted that he is sad for what has happened at Valencia with Adil Rami, but reflects that on the pitch things are looking up.

Los Che saw their French international defender hit out at his teammates and Coach on a radio programme on Tuesday and subsequently get sent home early, with his future at the club now looking uncertain.

“I am good friends with Rami, I get along with him very well, leaving this issue to one side,” Jonas reflected to reporters today on the week’s events.

“I’m a little sad about what happened, but we have to abide by the decisions of the club and the only thing we were thinking of was the match, about playing well and so we are happy for the win.”

Jonas netted the only goal of the game for Valencia at Granada on Wednesday evening to make it two wins in a row for Miroslav Djukic’s side.

“It was a goal for everyone, like with the celebration where we were all together. The move by Canales, the work by Banega…we were thinking of the draw but took this opportunity.

“It was an important game in which to pick up the points, it is a difficult ground and the game was played with a lot of aerial balls, but we fought.

“We had to adapt to the field and at the end managed to score the goal we were looking for. We were pushing to move forward and this is a very important victory.

“We have to continue like this, we have now won two straight and this victory away from home is important for us.”
