Djukic ‘won’t play Rami again’

Coach Miroslav Djukic has reportedly determined to President Amadeo Salvo and sporting director Braulio Vazquez that Adil Rami can’t play for Valencia again.

The centre-back was set to feature in Wednesday evening’s League fixture at Granada, until statements he made in a radio interview yesterday against his Coach and teammates saw him sent home.

Superdeporte understand that Djukic has already discussed the situation with club President Salvo and sporting director Braulio and that they have come to a consensus that Rami must be sanctioned for his comments.

An initial decision is reportedly to suspend the player without pay for a yet-to-be-determined period of time, in a move similar to that taken with Fernando Gago this time last year.

It is also believed that the club intend to take further action, but what action that will be is yet to be decided.

Reports are, though, that in today’s meeting with Salvo and Braulio, Djukic has made clear that he will not select Rami for Los Che again, as he considers the player’s actions as ‘a very serious offence’.

The club are also reported as having instructed general manager Francisco Rufete to source possible replacements in the transfer market for Rami come January.
