Tata Martino admitted that his Barcelona side ‘weren’t brilliant’ this evening, despite beating Ajax 4-0.
Lionel Messi’s hat-trick and Gerard Pique’s second half header gave the Blaugrana all three points against the Dutch side. But the Coach wasn’t entirely impressed.
“We weren't as brilliant as the 4-0 could indicate,” he briefly told reporters after the game.
“But we were deserved winners.
“In the second half we could have controlled the game better.
“Iniesta is improving, growing to his best form.
“Xavi benched? We have three players for two positions, so we'll rotate."
