Diego Simeone has insisted that Atletico Madrid are not favourites to qualify from their Champions League group.
The capital club have Zenit St Petersburg, Porto and Austria Wien in their group, and face the Russians tomorrow at Vicente Calderon.
“Zenit are a good side,” he told a Press conference. “They are an experienced side who have been in Europe a lot over the past few seasons. I can’t see their weak points.
“I don’t think we’re favourites with Zenit and Porto alongside us. We have not participated in this competition a lot over the past few years. This does not mean that we are growing though.
“If we play with humility and with a collective spirit then we can overcome anything.
“Zenit are a team that plays a different way to how we play in Spain, but that’s not to say they don’t attack.
“We’re going to go game-by-game and then see what happens in this competition.”
