Xabi Alonso’s agent has determined that no talks with Real Madrid over a new contract are scheduled until after the player returns from injury.
The midfielder is currently recovering from surgery on a fractured metatarsal and is believed set for a return to action during November.
Having entered the final year of his current contract, though, speculation continues to surround if the club are discussing a renewal with the 31-year-old or not.
“The media is not well informed,” Alonso’s agent Inaki Ibanez has told Fichajes.com this week.
“Currently Xabi is injured and we have to wait for him to recover.
“When this happens, we shall see what happens. Now that is our only concern.
“Currently there is no scheduled meeting with Real Madrid.”
