Madrid’s valuation increases

Forbes calculate that Real Madrid’s increased revenue and profit for 2012-13 has boosted their overall value to €2,580m.

Madrid were listed less than six months ago in the American publication’s annual list that ranks each club’s financial value.

This ranking saw the Spanish side overtake Manchester United as the world’s richest club, with Barcelona listed in third.

On from last week announcing preliminary financial results for last season, though, Los Blancos have had their valuation increased from $3.3bn, around €2,500m, to $3.4bn, around €2,580m.

Forbes have run a report on Monday indicating this slight increase and suggesting that, despite United’s perceived strong financial performance for the year also, Madrid will remain in top spot come next year’s official calculations.
