Real Madrid goalkeeping Coach Villiam Vecchi reportedly has a guiding influence in Carlo Ancelotti’s decision between Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez.
The two goalkeepers head into Week 2’s closing fixture at Granada with their shared position between the sticks under scrutiny, following Ancelotti’s decision to omit Casillas last weekend against Real Betis.
The Italian suggested after that game that the two will remain in competition and that team selection will be made on a game by game basis.
Marca today have it that Ancelotti’s goalkeeping Coach Vecchi will in fact have a strong say on the tactician’s decision.
The publication say that the veteran, who has worked with Ancelotti at Parma and Milan previous, will ultimately determine who between Casillas and Lopez will play, based on his reports from training.
