Lionel Messi will face a fitness test later this afternoon to determine whether he will be available for Argentina’s friendly against Italy.
The South Americans face the Azzurri in Rome on Wednesday, but the goalscorer is a doubt for the match after pulling up in Barcelona’s Asian tour last week.
The 26-year-old will be put through his paces by the medical staff later on Tuesday, but it is unclear whether he will be risked for the match at Stadio Olimpico.
Messi is likely to be available for the Blaugrana’s opening Liga match against Levante at the weekend though.
