Guardiola: ‘I have a lot to learn’

Pep Guardiola has admitted he still has a lot to learn in the coaching department despite his success at Barcelona.

Guardiola saw his Bayern Munich team beat fourth division Rehden 5-0 in the second round of the German Cup – the DFB-Pokal – with Thomas Muller notching a hat-trick for the Bavarians, who took the lead through Xherdan Shaqiri before Arjen Robben rounded off proceedings.

However, Guardiola is aware that this season he will be under the microscope like never before, as he told Germany’s ARD Television channel.

“I’m only 42 and have hardly had five years’ experience as a Coach, so it’s obvious I still have a lot to learn,” admitted the Catalan.

“This tie was a very dangerous one. We’ve already seen four Bundesliga sides knocked out by lower division teams, so I was satisfied with the performance.

“I know what kind of club I’m at. I have to win everything after Bayern won the lot last year.

“I also accept there is increased pressure after what I did with Barcelona,” he added.
