Pique: Normal for Cesc to have offers

Gerard Pique has admitted it is normal for Cesc Fabregas to be pursued by Manchester United, but claims that the midfielder will stay at Camp Nou.

The Spain international has been linked with a move away from Barcelona this summer, with Manchester United making two bids for the former Arsenal man.

But the defender has insisted that his teammate will still be with the Blaugrana this term.

“It is normal for players of his quality to have offers on the table,” he told a Press conference in Thailand.

“But I can confirm he will remain. His dream is to stay, and he is happy to do so.

“I have never had any doubts about that.”

Pique then commented on his expectation for Lionel Messi next season, whilst also remarking on new Coach Tata Martino.

“Every year Messi improves and seems to have reached his limit – but then he exceeds that.

“His goals, his style of play – they are adding more and more weight to the team.

“He is the best player in the world.

“Our workouts are more or less the same [as under Tito Vilanova]. He likes to talk, and that's good.

“There has been no radical change.”
