United turn to Modric

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to turn their attention away from Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas and on to Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.

Reports this week have listed both Fabregas and his agent as informing Barca of the player's intention to turn down United’s advances that have increased in focus in recent weeks.

Believed in response to this, United are seen as redirecting their attention in the summer market to other options.

First up on the list of alternatives, say The Times, is Madrid’s Modric, who has previous in his career been linked with the Old Trafford outfit.

It is believed that David Moyes’ side are readying a £25m, €30m offer to Los Blancos for the Croat, who endured an indifferent first season at the Santiago Bernabeu last term.
