Spurs set Bale’s price at €120m

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly determined that they will only begin negotiations with interested parties for Gareth Bale at €120m.

The Welshman has been increasingly linked this summer with a move away from White Hart Lane, with Real Madrid seen predominantly as up against Manchester United for his signature.

Whilst it was previously believed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was pushing for a €90m deal and that United were considering an offer of €70m, AS understand today that a new price has been set.

It is alleged that the London side are only willing to consider Bale’s exit if they were to receive a payment of €120m, which would surpass by some margin the current €96m world record fee that Madrid paid United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

Spurs are believed to be flexible in negotiations and willing to drop to €100m, if Los Merengues were to include a player as part of their offer, with Andres Villas-Boas reportedly eyeing Angel di Maria.
