Shirt number changes at Barca

Dani Alves is reportedly taking Eric Abidal’s old No 22 in tribute, as part of a number of speculated shirt number changes at Barcelona this season.

Whilst no confirmation has come through from the club on the list for 2013-14, Barca’s players indicated in their 2-0 friendly defeat to Bayern on Wednesday a few numerical rearrangements have been made.

In Germany, Alex Song notably took the No 17 shirt, which has previously belonged to Pedro Rodriguez, with the forward speculated as set to inherit the No 7 shirt that David Villa has vacated this summer.

Meanwhile, Cristian Tello and Sergi Roberto with 20 and 24 also respectively indicated changes on from last season.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo also believe that Dani Alves has left the No 2 shirt to Martin Montoya out of choice to take the No 22 shirt in tribute to former teammate Eric Abidal, who wore that number until his exit from the club this summer.
