Newell’s Old Boys boss Gerardo Martino has admitted that he ‘identifies’ with the Barcelona style.
The 50-year-old has become the surprise choice as Tito Vilanova’s successor over the weekend, and the Coach has conceded that he appreciates the Blaugrana’s style of play.
“Yes, I feel like I identify with Barcelona’s style,” he told Fox Sports. “For me it is impossible not to.
“They have a capacity to retain the ball in tight spaces, and not every team has that.
“I do not like to see unwarranted criticism towards a team that has spent five years at the top.”
