Carvajal enjoyed Madrid opener

Real Madrid youngster Dani Carvajal has admitted that he enjoyed his first outing of the season on Sunday.

Los Blancos defeated Bournemouth 6-0 with the 21-year-old starting the match at right-back.

And the Spain U21 international has revealed that he still has a lot of work to do if he's to be in the starting XI this season.

“The desire to go out and enjoy the first match was huge,” he told reporters.

“The team did well, but there are things to correct. We'll have to keep working. The season is very long and everyone will try to do their best.

“It was a first match and the team fought hard, tried to take the initiative and to keep the opposition in their half of the field.

“That position is nowhere near being mine. Arbeloa and I are both playing for it and we’ll try to make it difficult for the Coach.”
