Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has claimed that the signing of David Villa shows the intentions the club have for this season.
The capital club completed a move for the Barcelona forward last week, and the midfielder believes it to be a superb piece of business.
“Villa is a world class player,” he told reporters. “His is a magnificent signing.
“It is too early to say whether we are better than we were last year, but we have added well with the arrival of Villa and Martin Demichelis.
“Our objective is to re-enter the Champions League and to have stability as a club.”
