Giovani dos Santos has been presented as a Villarreal player today and promised to demonstrate his worth to the club this season.
The Mexican was picked up by the Yellow Submarine this summer from recently relegated Mallorca and, after formalising his transfer, has now been presented to the media.
“I have the desire to demonstrate the player that I am and I will definitely do so,” declared Dos Santos to reporters today.
“I know that I have the confidence of everyone here. I hope that it is a great year, both personally and collectively.
“I am now more mature and I am grateful for the faith that Villarreal have shown in me. I hope to respond to all the expectations.
“Villarreal’s interest began two or three years ago and I have always wanted to come here, but circumstances one way or another saw that it wasn’t so. I did not hesitate or consider another offer this time.
“This is a team that I have always liked. They play very good football. I hope to have fun on the field and to delight the fans.
“Can we aim for Europe? I will do everything in my power. This is a big club in Spain that has stumbled with the relegation.
“We have to be ambitious. I have come to a club with an important project and that excites me.”
