Llorente ‘liberated’ in Italy

Fernando Llorente has commented on his first few days at Juventus and on how he feels ‘liberated’ in moving to Italy.

The striker endured a difficult final year at Athletic Bilbao, confined predominantly to the bench and the subject of a mixed reception from San Mames’ crowd, as he saw out the final year of his contract with the Basques.

“Going to Juventus was a liberation for me,” commented Llorente this week in conversation with Tuttosport.

“It has been spectacular. The day of my presentation at Juventus Stadium was impressive, especially the stadium and the museum. It was great.

“Since I have arrived, I’ve been happy to wear a shirt as prestigious as that of Juventus. I’m living a dream. I’m growing as a player, I’ve come to the right team to do it.

“I’ve made friends in the dressing room. It was very important for me to learn Italian before arriving here.

“I’m glad that I have made the effort, because now I feel part of the group.”
