Bayern Munich director of football Matthias Sammer has denied Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara has already signed for the Bavarians.
Questioned by newspaper Bild am Sonntag over whether the Spanish international had already penned a deal with Bayern, former German international Sammer was unequivocal in his response.
“Why should we speak about something if he has already signed? Naturally, this is not the case,” he replied.
Sammer also insisted his club does not discuss ongoing transfer operations and maintained that to ‘probe and probe’ for an answer makes no sense.
In addition, the 45-year-old declined to comment on Guardiola’s style of coaching and whether he felt in the shade since his arrival, given the huge media coverage and how the German Press have hung on his every word.
“It’s too early…I remain prudent and cautious but I’ve been impressed at how Pep presents himself, how he makes his point,” he declared.
