Jonas wants to make Los Che history

Striker Jonas says he and his teammates want to make history while they are at Valencia.

The Brazilian joined up with the rest of his colleagues for pre-season training in Speyer, Germany, on Friday after being given extended leave for the birth of his child, and says he cannot wait to get started.

“It has been a time of great joy for me but now I want to train hard so I’m in the best possible condition for the opening games,” he told the club’s television channel.

“We have three important competitions to enjoy this year and we want to continue improving, so for me it is essential we win a trophy.

“All of us have the same mentality, that we want to write our name into the club’s history books.

“The only thing lacking is a title. Therefore, we’ll fight to achieve one this season. We have the opportunity.”

Jonas also gave his opinion on new Los Che boss Miroslav Djukic, who greeted him at the doors of the team’s hotel on his arrival.

“He’s a great Coach who was here [at Valencia] as a player and had success. With his experience and knowledge he will bring a lot to us this season.

“Hopefully with all of us pulling together we can achieve our ambitions,” he added.
