Reports in Italy are that Thiago Alcantara has today signed a deal to join Bayern Munich from Barcelona.
COPE reported this morning that the young midfielder was leaning towards a move to the Germans, as opposed to remaining with the Catalans or signing with other interested party Manchester United.
This was followed up by former Barca Coach Pep Guardiola’s assertion to the media this afternoon that he was keen for his new team Bayern to pick up the 22-year-old if possible.
More than one outlet in Italy is now running the report that Thiago has agreed terms with the Bavarians and only official confirmation is lacking.
Tuttomercatoweb.com and Sky Sport Italia are both reporting that the player will sign a deal worth €2.5m a season, with Bayern paying his temporarily-reduced buyout clause of €18m.
