Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara has decided his future lies with Bayern Munich, according to Cadena COPE.
The radio station quoted sources close to the 22-year-old as saying he has spoken to Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, who has convinced him to play in the Bundesliga next season.
His decision, maintains the station, came after former Barca boss Guardiola assured Thiago he will get a lot of playing time as he plans to switch Javi Martinez from midfield into the centre of his defence.
In addition, COPE added that there is already a ‘preliminary agreement’ in place and that Thiago would earn €4m-a-year in wages.
It is understood that in July, owing to a clause in his contract with La Blaugrana, Thiago’s release clause was lowered from €60m to €18m as he did not play a stipulated number of minutes last season.
The Spanish international has recently been linked with moves to both Manchester United and Real Madrid.
