Real Mallorca midfielder Marti says an instant return to the top flight is a must following last season’s relegation.
The 38-year-old is no stranger to La Segunda after previous spells with Mallorca B, Tenerife and Real Sociedad and recognises how difficult the 2013-14 campaign will be for Los Bermellones.
“It’s a very difficult division and has nothing to do with what we have been through in recent years.
“In this case, players with experience will be very important, but this team is ready for the challenge and we must return to the Primera as soon as possible,” Marti told a Press conference.
The veteran also spoke about new Coach Jose Luis Oltra, who has joined the Islanders after being in charge at Deportivo de La Coruna last term.
“We are still getting to know each other and things will gradually become clearer as we work towards our goal.
“Everyone here has always made an effort, both players and coaches, because we are working to try and get Mallorca back to where the club belongs.”
