Ronaldo: I’m happy at Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has affirmed that his future is at Real Madrid, where he hopes the team will ‘do everything possible’ for success next season.

The Portuguese has been the subject of continued speculation over his future, but has affirmed whilst at a public gala held in Monaco on Thursday evening that he will be staying at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“This is not the best day to talk about my future. I am here to enjoy the party and the night. As for my future, we will know soon,” reflected Ronaldo to reporters at the event.

“The last 10 months have been seen a very difficult season and now I want to have fun with my girlfriend and my son. I am going to the beach, relaxing, playing tennis…

“Next season we have to better than last year. We must do everything possible to win the League and the Champions League with Real Madrid. I also hope to qualify for the World Cup with Portugal.

“Manchester United? They are a club that has been in my heart for a long time. Everyone knows the passion that I have for that club. But my future is at Real Madrid.”

In the principality, Ronaldo was asked of Monaco’s increased presence on the transfer market and of the possibility of one day signing for the club himself.

“They are a good club with a fantastic owner. Monaco are back in Ligue 1. I wish them well because there are two Portuguese in their team and also Falcao and James Rodriguez.

“Would I sign for Monaco ever? I will not say that I’d never come to this club but today I am very happy at Real Madrid. I will come here on vacation.”
