Madrid internationals’ return set

Real Madrid will call back Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Raul Albiol, Alvaro Arbeloa and Marcelo to preseason training on July 22.

The five players, who all were a part of their respective nations’ run to the Confederations Cup Final played this Sunday, have been granted an extra seven days before reporting in for preseason.

The quintet will all have had a total of 21 days off, compared to others not involved in Brazil, like Cristiano Ronaldo, whose last game was on June 10 and who will have had 34 days of rest.

Others who have not been involved this summer at all at international level will have had 60 days of vacation at the club.

Madrid’s preseason plans will see them fly out to the United States once more.
