Andriy Shevchenko believes that Cristiano Ronaldo 'must stay' at Real Madrid, despite links of a possible departure.
Rumours in both the Spanish and British Press recently have claimed that Portugal international could make a sensational move back to Manchester United.
But the former Milan striker has insisted that the Ballon d'Or needs to stay and work with Carlo Ancelotti.
“I don't know why Cristiano would want to go,” he told AS. “When you're in Madrid, you must stay in Madrid.
“I don't think you can go much further in your career [than Madrid]. Every player would like to have played there.
“I'm sure Ancelotti will be a friend to all, not just Cristiano Ronaldo, and open doors for everyone in that dressing room.
“I do not think there are too many teams as suitable for Carlo's type and style of play as Real Madrid.
“It's good for both parties.
“He will shake up Madrid, but in a good way
“I am sure he will want to convince Cristiano to stay and be the best.”
