Sevilla confirm Spahic sale

Sevilla have confirmed that they have sold defender Emir Spahic to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee.

The Bosnian was loaned out to Anzhi in February, only for the Russians to not take up their €1.5m purchase option on the 32-year-old.

Subsequently, the defender attracted interest from unnamed clubs in France and Greece in this summer.

However, it is German side Leverkusen who look set to pick up the international, with Sevilla confirming that an agreement for his transfer has been reached today.

Spahic managed 50 games for the Andalucians in a two-year spell at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Sevilla confirm that his sale includes ‘very good economic terms’ for the club.
