Rayo Vallecano have picked up their first player of the summer transfer window, announcing a deal for Espanyol’s Raul Baena.
The Madrid outfit, who have seen a number of players leave since the end of the season, have confirmed their first arrival in the form of Los Pericos’ 24-year-old midfielder.
Baena has moved to Vallecas to sign a two-year contract on a free transfer, having failed to agree a renewal with Espanyol to stay on at Cornella-El Prat.
Former Malaga youth Baena spent a season in the youth academy at Barcelona before moving across the Catalan city in 2007. Two years later making his senior debut, Baena has managed 85 appearances for Espanyol.
