Liverpool complete Aspas deal

Liverpool have confirmed that they have completed a deal to sign Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas, subject to international clearance.

The 25-year-old, who scored 12 goals last term for Celta in his debut season in the Primera Division, underwent a medical and agreed terms to the move last week, only for a row over paperwork see the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) provisionally block the transfer.

However, that dispute has seemingly been resolved, with Liverpool announcing through their official website that, subject to international clearance, the deal has now been completed.

The Premier League side’s statement listed the striker as having signed a ‘long-term deal’ believed to be four years in length, whilst the initial fee paid out to Celta is speculated as around the €8m mark.
