Suarez: Nothing concrete yet

Luis Suarez has reflected that there have been no offers for him so far, just as Liverpool reportedly want an official transfer request.

The Uruguay forward has prompted transfer links with Spain this summer through a series of interviews expressing his dissatisfaction at treatment by the media in the UK and of the ‘dream’ it would be to play for Real Madrid.

However, reports today are that Liverpool will not listen to offers for the 26-year-old until they have an official written transfer request sent in by the player.

At the same time, Suarez has also commented that there have been no approaches yet.

“No-one has spoken to me or Liverpool,” commented the forward to reporters this week from Uruguay’s training base at the Confederations Cup.

“I’m here to defend my national team. The Press has been talking a lot about my possible transfer, but nothing is concrete.

“They are just rumours.”
