Neymar has looked forward to his unveiling as a Barcelona player and admitted that many had advised he sign for Real Madrid.
The 21-year-old has just completed a move from Santos to the Camp Nou and is due in Catalonia on Monday to be presented to fans and the media.
“I'm very happy. This is a very special time for me,” commented Neymar to Marca, whilst out on international duty with Brazil this weekend.
“I'll try to adapt to my new team as soon as possible so I can play at my top level from the start. It's an honour to be able to play with Messi.
“Ronaldo, Kaka, Marcelo…lots of people said I should sign for Real Madrid, but in the end I took a decision which I discussed a lot with my family and I'm very happy with the path I've chosen to play in Europe.”
