Carvajal ready for Madrid return

Dani Carvajal has enthused at the possibility of returning to Real Madrid this summer, saying that he is ready to ‘make the grade’.

The defender was sold to Bayer Leverkusen just last summer for around €5m, but with Los Blancos retaining the right to buy him back this coming transfer market at an agreed rate of €6.5m.

Whilst not yet official, it is strongly believed that Madrid will activate the buyback clause, having had the 21-year-old impress in his year in the Bundesliga.

“Who wouldn't want to return home? I'm ready and have the self-belief that I can make the grade at Real Madrid,” Carvajal has told reporters this week, in anticipation.

“My season? The past year has been very good. I have managed so many minutes and the recognition is important.

“And we achieved the goal of Champions League qualification, which is what we were chasing.”
