Atletico: Negredo talks pending

Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin has confirmed that the club will hold talks with Sevilla in June over Alvaro Negredo’s availability.

The Spanish international is seen as a likely candidate to be sold by the Ancalucians this summer as they look to ease pressure from a €50m debt.

Gil Marin has revealed that he has already arranged with Sevilla counterpart Jose Maria del Nido to hold talks for the 27-year-old once the season ends in early June.

“It is my duty to stay informed of the market,” explained Gil Marin to ABC today.

“It may be that Radamel Falcao goes if a significant offer comes in, so I have to take advice, ask questions and talk with other leaders.

“And yes, I have spoken with Jose Maria. I told him that we could let go of Falcao and that we were thinking towards Negredo.

“We have agreed to talk at the end of the season. There is long enough for all parties to carefully consider what is best. Negredo is one of the options presented to us by the market.

“A fee? We all know the level that he is at.”

Meanwhile, Russian side Anzhi are seen as once more interested in the striker too. Negredo has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund and a number of sides in the Premier League.
