Monaco striker Falcao admits facing Atletico Madrid in the Champions League will be ‘very special’ for him as they are ‘in his heart’.
The Colombian striker helped Atleti to a Europa League title and Copa del Rey triumph in his two seasons with the club between 2011 and 2013.
“Having the chance to play against Atletico is very special for me,” Falcao told reporters.
“Atletico are a club who are in my heart and I have many happy memories of my time at the club that I will forever cherish.
“Now I must fight for Monaco’s jersey to help defeat them but it will be tough because they are the favourites in the group and have reached three European finals in the last five years.
“That demonstrates how well they are performing as a club because they have a great Coach and an amazing squad of players – that is why I think they are the favourites.”
