Falcao: Focus on the final

Radamel Falcao has rejected the notion that he has agreed a deal with Monaco already, insisting focus is just on Atletico Madrid’s Copa del Rey Final.

The Colombian heads into this Friday’s Cup final against Real Madrid with continued speculation surrounding his future.

But in talking to the media pre-match, he was keen to refocus on to the game.

“In a final you start thinking about it days before, looking ahead. Personally I focus on the work I have to do for the good of the team and the role of striker,” commented Falcao.

“When you are playing it is best to enjoy it. I believe in giving the best of myself and the team. In the end you will see the result.

“Real Madrid are favourites due to the budget they have and the kind of players they have but to us it does not bother us. We have faith in ourselves. What others say we does not interest us.”

The striker has been increasingly linked with a move to Monaco this summer.

“I know nothing, I am just thinking about Atletico Madrid and I am separate from these rumours. The media have already placed me in half of Europe – Manchester United, Real Madrid…since I arrived I have been setting off.

“Is this my last game for Atleti? That was said even after the final of the Europa League in Bucharest, that if we did not enter the Champions League then I would leave…I do not know what to think, all I know is that I have a contract with Atletico. The rest is speculation.”
