Cristiano Ronaldo yesterday became the fastest player in Real Madrid’s history to score 200 goals, doing so in just his 197th appearance.
The 28-year-old reached the figure with a solitary strike in Los Blancos’ 6-2 win at home to Malaga on Wednesday evening.
Becoming the sixth player to reach 200 goals for Madrid after Raul, Di Stefano, Santillana, Puskas and Hugo Sanchez, Ronaldo has achieved it in record time, managing to do so in just 197 games.
Ronaldo’s goals can be split 146 in La Liga, 35 in the Champions League, 16 in the Copa del Rey and three in the Supercopa de Espana.
The Portuguese is also, alongside Messi, the only player to have surpassed the 50-goal mark for a third consecutive season.
